A Pickup Simulator is a passive little utility box that solves a problem that has been plaguing the electric guitar for millennia; "Why the hell does my fuzz sound like crap after a buffer?"
Many vintage effects (particularly fuzzes) were designed with the expectation that they'd be connected directly to your guitar, which is a high impedance signal. Feeding them a low-impedance signal (from a buffered pedal, active pickups, a wireless system or a synthesiser, etc.) means they don't behave as you'd expect if you would have plugged straight in. This often results in a loss of treble content, muddy low end, or lack of attack.
This pickup simulator is completely passive and requires no power. It converts a low-impedance buffered signal into one that behaves much more like a traditional passive guitar pickup. The controls are low profile and mounted on the side, to allow for easy mounting under your pedal board. All housed in a compact and very handsome emerald hammertone 1590A enclosure.
It features a low profile knob to adjust the simulated pickup resistance, along with a switch to select between single-coil (up) and humbucker (down) modes, to simulate the different inductance of these styles of pickups.
Place it before impedance-sensitive effects, particularly fuzzes, and they'll respond much more like they would if they were plugged straight into your guitar.
