The Transistoriser Deluxe is an expansion of the beloved Transistoriser circuit. It combines the classic Transistoriser with a glitchy analog octave section to create the ultimate versatile octave fuzz.
Both sides can be used independently of one another, run the octave section by itself for a synthy analog octave effect, or the fuzz as a classic silicon fuzz-tone, and then kick the other side in to take things up a notch.
The Transistoriser is inspired by some of my favourite and most underrated silicon fuzz boxes from the late 60s/early 70s - like the Shin Ei FY-2 and the Mosrite Fuzzrite, but with some very welcome modern updates. The fuzz and texture controls interact with one another to take you from a lower gain drive, to harmonically dense, ripping fuzz. The thick/thin switch, alters the bass content of the pedal. Flicking the switch to thin can help riffs cut much better and give you more of a 'velcro' tone, and flicking to thick gives you a massive wall of fuzz (perfect for using with bass guitars too!).
The octave section combines a synthy CMOS-based analog octave down, with a swelling transformer-based octave up similar to the octavia. There is also a dry control for blending in your un-octaved, "clean" tone. The three controls operate independently of each other so you can blend in your perfect balance of octaves.
Inside, you'll find some bonus controls. There is a dip-switch to select between one octave down or two octaves down, (or both!) on the 'down' octave control. There is also a basic filter in the octave section which can be used to tame some harsh treble in the octave signal, as well as a master volume after the octave's mixer section.
Overall it’s an extremely versatile octave + fuzz box capable of some really unique fuzz sounds that haven’t been explored by other modern fuzzes, with some familiar tones in there too! With the addition of the octave section, you can take the Transistoriser Deluxe into pure chaos.
